Sarawak iconic foods
1. Laksa Sarawak
Laksa Sarawak is actually based on vermicelli rice noodles (bee hoon) cooked in shrimp based broth that is thicken with coconut milk. This dish is best served with generous amount of bean sprouts,few boiled prawns and garnished with shredded chicken and slivers of egg omelette. For extra spice, add some sambal which is usually served on the side. You can also squeeze some lime juice into your dish for some extra pizzazz.

Mee kolok is light yellow egg noodle consist of lard,char siew(barbequed pork) sauce for non halal and vinegar. A common dish can be found anywhere in Sarawak , the Mee Kolok is available for breakfast,lunch and also supper. Halal version also available in muslim stall.

Dabai is a seasonal fruit with black skin while the flesh is yellow in colour the seed is also yellow and diamond shaped. Dabai is a hard fruit but when you soaked it in semi hot water with some salt, it becomes soft and edible and textures like dates .

4. Ikan Terubuk Masin
Ikan terubuk masin is actually salted ikan terubok and can be found in various markets in Sarawak.
