Before I got chance to join ALAM, I worked as a fruit plucker in Australia. I live in Mildura which is 8 hours from Melbourne city buy train include bus. You must change transit after 6 hours in train then change with bus for another 2 hours to arrive Mildura station. My house in Red Cliff district and might take around 15 minutes by car from the station.

Mildura Station |
My housemates are about 10 persons and all of them are Malaysian. Trust me, I am the youngest among of them. Every week the owner of the house, Uncle Ben comes and collects the rent money. If Malaysia we might pay our rent by monthly right? But their country pay any rent like house by weekly. We also collects and share our money to buy food and anything that we need every week. Ok done about this, at least you guys have some knowledge how do I live and still alive there. Hahaha.

Then I worked at orange farm not too far from my house which is about 15 minutes journey. We also bought a second hand van for our daily transportation. Usually we departs at 7:40 am and arrive the farm before 8:00 am.

Every day we already had our breakfast at home on ourselves (masak sendiri2). Some of my friends also bring their own bekal to farm for their lunch. Like me, I just eat much in the morning and straight meet the dinner at 7:00 pm. No lunch for me because it depends on your own budget and I prefer to save more money to bring back Malaysia. Huhu

People from other country also worked there. This guy and his girlfriend are from Germany. |
It is depends on what season if you want to work at farm area. During my time, grape season just finish and it is time for orange to earn benifits. At farm, the most important thing that you have to do is fast. Your salary is depends on how much fruit that you got per day.
 |
Your money based on how many bin that you can fill. Let me rest and smoke for a while. |
But in one day I can achieve 100 dollars and it is about RM400 if converted to Malaysian Ringgit. That range is not the highest because there are many experienced worker who can achieve more than that. Like I said you must fast doing your job and usually they are already worked there for a long time. I just about in learning to pluck the fruit because there are also many skill to pluck the fruit quickly and properly. The contractor who is your in charge can detect whether you are doing your job properly or not. So don't you think it just easy work and can get more money. Hahaha

Life is not that easy guys. |
After work, all of us back home and prepare for dinner. But have a shower first la. Ok here we already planned and put a duty for every person in the house. Like me, I don't know how to cook so my duty is like wash the dishes and etc. But don't worry because I got 3 person in the house who are talented and have more experience in cooking.

Preparing dinner every evening. |
But my experience living in Australia is just about one month only after my mom (ibu) ask me to go back Malaysia. The purpose is she ask me to further my study in maritime industry which is to be a cadet in ALAM.

So goodbye Aussie and let me sailing on to my dream |
