Don Salvador Benedicto
Have you been thought of visiting or living simply in a place wherein will fill your eyes with so much green and so much to discern? I have been to a place which can surely satisfy your desire as a traveler and as a nature lover, like me. Highlands, paddy fields, sugarcane plantations, waterfalls, spring waters, sumptuous foods -- name it all. Don Salvador Benedicto is surely a place for you to visit. DSB is a 5th class Municipality and considered as the Summer Capital of Negros located at the eastern part of Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is just approximately one hour and thirty minutes away from Bacolod-Silay International Airport. I have been there for a road trip to spend the remaining days of my semestral break before coming back to Malaysia for my studies.
My first stop is The Mountain View Resort. It has a restobar which serves any type of dish for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a snack. I try their native coffee and tuna sandwich while enjoying the scenic view.
The brewed coffee is just so perfect for the cool and breezy wind gently touching my skin.
Basking under the sun just to be photobombed by the lovey part of Mt. Kanlaon.
Greater view of Mt. Kanlaon behind.
The falls is also known for its tall-cigarette-water-falls feature.
I take a further drive and see Balokon Spring Resort. This place is absolutely an ideal place for families, friends and couples who would like to spend their weekends and holidays for relaxation. It has rooms where you can stay overnight and cottages for your daytime activities and leisure for an affordable rate.
The entrance is so welcoming.

And so the inside.
And there is more, further, I take around 10 minutes drive to reach La Vista Highlands. It has an entrance fee of 100 Philippine Peso each person or approximately 9 Ringgit Malaysia. There is a short walk towards the main entrance and it is quite rocky. Nevertheless, I am so satisfied as I reached inside. It has rooms for overnight stay, restaurant, and a swimming pool. There are other amenities available, just check with their friendly staff around if you want to try.
Everyday is summer at La Vista Highlands.
Try to swim. The cold wind is biting your skin.
Enjoying the panorama of Mt. Kanlaon.
If you want to go on the other side, try their zip line.
I am so in love with mountains.
Driving back to Bacolod, I drop by in a small shed along the road to snap a photo of the famous Malatan-og Falls. This falls is seemly for all the adventurers who would like to go for a trek. Trek time going to Malatan-og falls fro the highway is about one hour.
